In 2024, our CEO Niko Karstikko joined the podcast Hospitality Meets (#181, “Technology, Trust, and Transformation”) to share Bob W’s vision for a tech‑enabled, scalable, and climate‑conscious hospitality model. The discussion explored how technology can streamline operations, reduce resource consumption, and support consistent guest experiences while lowering environmental impact.

LEGIT

We developed LEGIT (Lodging Emissions & Guest‑night Impact Tracker), a methodology for measuring the full footprint of a stay, including emissions from energy, consumables, waste, furnishings, and more. With LEGIT we aim to raise the bar for transparency and accountability in hospitality emissions reporting.

Transparency Matters

We also publish our emissions metrics publicly, giving travellers access to emissions‑per‑night data for each apartment, putting climate impact in clear view alongside price and location. This transparency is part of our call for a more honest, data‑driven hospitality industry.

Furthr provides the technical guidance and benchmarks, while our teams implement the initiatives on the ground, from energy efficiency and waste reduction to carbon offset projects. Together, we ensure measurable progress, accountability, and continuous improvement across our network.
